I was in Dubai recently and tried VoIP from there. Did not work and I have an idea they block voice traffic. That might be the reason for you not getting any comms?

Well I tried their system again last night and this time I managed to get registered quite easily. But as someone who uses gtalk all the time (PC to PC) aI decided to make a PC to phone call try out their system, and it was the worst call ever. Until they improve this service...stay away.
