Geotagging services dangerous says U.S. army

They definitely have a point. Thing is, if you're in a combat area, you shouldn't even be communicating things like that to start with.

Its America. I suppose someone should tell them that broadcasting a hostage situation live and showing the hostage takers exactly what they are doing is counter-productive!
 
In 2007, soldiers uploaded pictures of a fleet of new helicopters based in Iraq. Opposing forces were able to determine the exact location of the choppers, and destroy four of them in an attack.
