USB for Toyota Yaris

USB ports are out dated. The newer cars come with an AUX port, which can connect to most multimedia devices such as phones, ipods etc.

Anyway, if you got the new Yaris then it came with a USB port, according to this : http://www.toyota.co.za/picturedata/vehicledownloads/yaris.pdf

Other than that, it would be wiser to contact your dealer. Not like they are going to charge your for the quote.

Just buy an adapter from 12V to USB - will most likely be damn side cheaper than getting a Toyota part fitted. Else just upgrade your radio, my i10 came with a USB enabled radio

Nah, they're pretty convenient when using one of these. I'd take USB over Aux. Some cars come with both though, which is first prize.

You are ill informed and willfully ignorant.

I would take the USB any day. I would rather have both though.

Also with USB, you can control your iPod etc from the cars controls and display the song title etc on the car's display. The USB port (along with bluetooth) is also useful for getting data from the phone for the very latest (I mean outdated) in car infotainment systems. You can also copy content from an external drive to the outdated vehicles onboard harddrive using USB. Luckily the aux connector replaces all of these outdated functions!

The USB port can also be used for charging things like phones and GPS units.

The BMW 3 series F30 (which came out yesterday) has a USB port, you have to pay R3300 extra for the "extended functionality" (copy/paste) of the USB port and another R1250 for the USB to work with the phone). This is clearly a tax for people who insist on using outdated technology.
The new Audi a4 (which came out the other day) has a USB port (and harddrive), they do not even mention if it has an aux connector.

Clearly the fiesta is way ahead of the pack here.
