There are going to be a lot of unlicenced vehicles.....
Only 100,000 more tags sold in the last 6 weeks ?
South Africans who have not paid their toll fees, will not be able to renew their car licence discs, the South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) said on Tuesday.
Gauteng government launched their e-tag registration process for government vehicles.
Sanral chief Nazir Alli said motorists would not be fined or get de-merit points for not paying toll fees.
However, Alli said licence discs would not be renewed if toll fees and related administration costs were not paid.
He said systems would also be put in place, to insure motorists did not attempt to cheat the toll system with fake number plates.
There is no cut-off date for e-tag registrations, but Alli has encouraged people to register and benefit from discounts.
Over 300,000 people have registered for e-tags so far.
