I've just replaced my damaged Gigabyte board with an Asus ... identical P55 chipset so no changes were needed on the Hard Drive.
I now get a message from windows activation saying I have 24 days left to activate.
Online activation tells me the product key cannot be used on this machine.
Retyping the Product key gives the same.

It's an OEM 64-bit version installed by Evetech when I bought the original system 18 months ago. I have the original disc.

Anybody who can help ?

Just call MS and activate using the phone system...their voice prompts are very suggestive, even for pirates...

Call the activation centre and tell them you had to reload due to problems

Dont stress,I've done this with one of my pc's more than 5 times.

Or if you are tired of jumping through these hoops as legit user google Daz's Windows Loader. Won't ever have the problem again.
