Hey guys, I'm looking to buy this exact Toshiba model: Toshiba Portege Z830-S8302. It looks like this model (or the Z830 range as a whole is not yet available in South Africa). I phoned Toshiba and they confirmed this to a degree. I was able to source a model on wantitall that seams to be the same laptop: http://beta.wantitall.co.za/PC-Hardware/Toshiba-PT225U-006004-13-3-Inch-Netbook-Computer__B006S3LPQG - looks like takealot also has it (for R1000 more).

Any other avenues I can visit or have I exercised all my options?

I see this is Toshiba's Ultrabook range.. I'm also looking to get an Ultrabook, though they are quite new. While you're looking, look into the ASUS zenbook.. here's a thread I started about it - http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/402113-Is-it-worth-buying-this-from-the-US

There's also the Acer Aspire S3 I think, as well as a new Samsung ultrabook.. also HP.. it seems everyone's making one.

They all have similar specs.. they're super thin, SSD's, resume in 2 seconds.. etc.. The zenbook is my favourite.

Also check out the Lenovo Ideapad Yoga.. it opens and flips over to become a windows 8 tablet..

Hi, yes I've looked at the Acer S3 $ Asus Zenbook the problem is my boss really likes the Toshiba. He currently has the Toshiba R830-10R and loves it the only thing though is it doesn't come with a backlit keyboard (and neither does the S3 or Zenbook). The Z830 however does come with a backlit keyboard but not available in South Africa yet. Looks like I will be able to get it from the US but then the question is what happens when I've got a warranty issue/claim?

I'm not sure about the Toshiba, but I see the Asus has a Global warranty. So it's covered here too via Asus direct.

I am looking for the z930, any dealers online?
