If by "blows away" you mean around 20% better in benchmarks and TWIMTBP games, while less than 5% better in other games like COD3 and BF3, then yes I guess so...

edit: I've actually seen stock 7970's beat the GPU portion 3DMark11 score of the GTX690, so something isnt right with the above scores

I just ran 3DMark11 with stock GPU clocks, and I got 7762 GPU score on the performance preset setting. So I just beat the GTX680 with a stock 7970 :whistle:

edit: apparently I shouldnt have passed Grade 1, given my poor reading skills

So will I, because I'm certain these benches are fake, or have been tampered with. I ran Heaven as well now, same settings 1920x1080 8xAA, and got 51.5fps vs the 42 the above link shows. Its possible they ran at a different tesselation setting though. 3DMark11 though, the preset is, well preset, so their score is waaaay off on that one

Did I miss something?

On the performance preset, the 680 got 9298 GPU score on the graph I'm reading.

@ Archer do you mean GTX 590 or GTX 690?

The defintion of "blows away" clearly
COD the scores are equal...
BF3 is 3% more...

So lets even be optimistic and give Nvidia another 10% after driver tweaks, thats 13% more 2 months later (will actually be more, but thats not Nvidia fault)... Thats still hardly "blows away"

Nothing to argue about, I am interested in real life feedback, who cares what brand is best as long as their is something affordable thats close or better than the best. I do like all the Nvidia extras like CUDA tho. ;)
 
I'm irritated because you copy paste blatantly incorrect headings without further thought, so you are perpetuating a mistruth. Go look at how techpowerup presented the info - thats unbiased reporting. If you are truly wanting real life feedback, wait for real reviews.

Cry me a river. :D What was incorrect about those tests? Do you have a 680 to verify that the "reviewers" review is flawed, incorrect and full of mistruth's? We already saw you retract one claim or mistruth you made. ;)
