Children are reported to be among at least three people killed in a shooting outside a Jewish school in Toulouse, south-west France.

Witnesses told French media that one adult and two children were among the dead.

They said a man opened fire on people waiting at a school drop-off point and then fled on a scooter.

It comes days after three soldiers were shot dead by a man on a scooter in the same part of France.

A 30-year-old paratrooper was gunned down in a residential area of Toulouse just over a week ago, while two soldiers were killed and a third wounded as they used a cashpoint in the town of Montauban, some 29 miles (46km) away, on Thursday.

Maxime Meunier, a correspondent at the scene for the French television network BFM, said people in the area were linking the latest shootings to the attacks on the soldiers.

He said people were in "immense shock".

The attack is reported to have happened outside Ozar Hatorah school in the Joliment area of the city.

Mr Meunier said a man on a black scooter opened fire, killing three people - including two children - and badly wounding several others.

Why did they have to state it was a Jewish school? Now people will be screaming anti-semitism.
 
Awful! Irrespective of what religion, shooting at schools is dispacable. I wonder if there is any link to the paratroopers? Guess the reasoning will come out once someone claims responsibility for this.

Well if it is the same person who killed the soldiers and if it is shown that the soldiers aren't Jewish then it isn't anti-semitic. For now I'll think of it as 3 people killed who happen to be Jewish.

yeh, I assume the French authorities would also love to know which scum is behind this.
 
What is the motivation behind this? Those responsible should be arrested soon.

Does make a difference.
It just happens to be outside a jewish school... not a direct attack on the school, the "target" happen to be outside the school.
I dont see no motive to attack the school, sensationalised article.
