Icasa staff dash for the door

a sad, complete and utter fsckup

it is impossible to get any continuity in working with icasa personnel and those that i meet all talk about leaving

Bad news for the ICASA ADSL Draft Regulations. Mamodupi Mohlala was the chair of the committee and Diane Ngoasheng was driving everything...maybe that is the reason for the delay.
 
So we will see the demise of democracy and the GVT effectiveness in the next 7-10 years. Maybe get Mugabe to run this cesspit

Looks like a deliberate attempt by the GVT on behalf of TELKOM to sabotage the progress. Now it will probably all be redone! Another colloquium run by Telkom this time round!
 
No answer at ICASA. Looks like their problems are not limited to senior staff leaving!
 
Was wondering bout this. How hard would it be to get a job at ICASA?
I can moan and bitch all i want at this forum but how many of us are prepared to go and actually tackle the problem head on?
 
Bad news for us if ICASA loses the following people in particular:

- Peter Hlapolosa, general manager of the crucial telecommunications unit;
- Diane Ngoasheng, senior manager of public consultation;
- Mamodupi Mohlala

ICASA councillors are appointed by the president I think. Not like one can go knock on ICASA's doors and tune "Hey Paris ole buddy ole pal, make me a councillor wontcha??"
 
I am just wondering where these people are going... That would be interesting to see...

Still - goes to show - they can do somethings quickly - if it benefits them directly.

Seriously though, I think we need to develop some sort of graphical representation of where former !CASA have moved to [jobwise], same goes for the DoC & guavamint in general, including declared or known business|commercial interests...just not sure how best to go about doing it - a few MySQL databases some php and a wiki for editorialising...?

Great, then the internet speed will catch up to the Postal system.

Regulators have a very touch time being a stable organisation as it is very political. it's all about who you know and what favours are owed to who.

The sad thing is even if you have 100% dedicated staff at the working level ie. below management it won't make much of a difference to Telecoms in South Africa because management and up are where all the decisions are made, If any decisions at all, and the management just eiether have no clue or don't care because it doesn't beneift them and their back pocket or why ever else they play these political games.

Very sad state
