LLumar ”smash and grab” 35% or 50% tint?

has anyone fitted LLumar ”smash and grab”?
Would you go for a 35% or 50% tint?

Is the 35% too dark for night driving?
I have been told that this is within legal limits.
 
35 is fine except it's a bit tough to reverse at night in a dark area. Open window and use side mirrors works though ;)
 
I've always had the darkest put on all my cars and it works great. Never had any issues reversing at night, and it really makes a huge difference during the day as far as sunlight and heat going into your car goes.... About a 15% improvement ;-)
 
35% is legal
50% is not legal
Thats from experience at the local traffic department's roadworthy office.

50 is lighter than 35. The percentage refers to the amount of light transmitted. 35 is the legal minimum.

Sorry, confused.
I do the sides 35% & the rear window darker (dont know which %) but somewhat darker than the 35%.
I was thinking of a much darker tint in my "younger" days could be 5% lol which was totally dark.
The 50% i could be confusing with the 5% sorry. Was sometime back.
 
20 is pretty dark. 5 is pretty much blackout ;)
 
I've had both and the 35% was too dark for me. The only problem with S&G is that your windows are forever dirty.
 
Dark tints should be banned, you can't see through the car in front of to see what's going on ahead of them.
 
I would keep the back window lighter as it makes reversing in low-light conditions much easier. I have the dark tint and regret putting it on the back windscreen...

Depending on who does the job, it should cost between 1500 and 1800.

Whoever said that 35% is illegal is not correct. 50% and 35% are both legal. Anything darker than 35% is illegal.

I always fit 35% to my cars - great in bright sun, and very good at hiding stuff inside if you have a dark interior. HIGHLY recommended! :D

Yip. We did my wifes previous car at Glassfit for R1700 for all side windows and the rear. Do you homework before you take your car anywhere. A lot of places, even big names like Glassfit, can make a muck of things and you end up with bubbles or streakes/scrathes on the film. Inspect it very closely before you drive off, and have them redo any windows that you are not happy with. Large bubbles WON'T go out "48- to 72-hours later" like they say.
