Vodacom HSDPA really Fast all of a Sudden!!

Just founded an old sim card laying around which I forgot about, it is still a contract SIM so R135 airtime is added every month.

I checked the balance and it was R600, so I decided to buy 3gigs of data.

I connected to the internet and decided to download the new ATI graphics drivers, then I almost fell of my chair when I saw the speed at which it is downloading, the highest was 1400KBps!!

Never before did I get that speeds from vodacom before, usually just 300KBps, and I used them alot last year but now I am on ADSL.

Looks to me like they upgraded the towers around here, i'm really impressed , just wish they would drop the high data prices.

Yeah 2 weeks ago i got speeds of 1400KB/s in East London.
But back in PE still get the normal speeds of 120-500KB/s up & down.

Perhaps all heavy users migrated already to 8ta.

I was downloading a ROM on my phone just now using my night owl data. Download speed kept going between 1600 and 1720KB/s. I nearly wet myself. Never seen that on my phone before.
Hell, never seen that on any means in SA before.

That is probably the case.

Mine is usually very slow, just over 200KBps if you're lucky.

But over the weekend, I was getting up to 700KBps!!!

However, it's back down to the slow speeds again today, 50KBps etc.
