CAn I turn my original xbox into an HTPC?

I used to run xbmc on my xbox 1, worked like a dream!
But when HD came out I had the problem that it was too slow.

So switched over to HTPC.

But was wondering if If it was possible to remove all the innnards and replace them with PC parts and get the IR up and running?

Place an ATX motherboard inside
Slim GPU

The power supply would be the biggest problem as it wont fit standard PSU.
 
Come on chaps does no one share that break it to find how it works like we used to do when we were young, even for the hell of it.

I'm not allowed to break stuff just to see how it works anymore :p
But yeah... would be interesting to see if your plan could work.
 
I don't see why it wouldn't work but whats the point? You'll basically end up with a mini ITX type pc inside the shell of an old xbox. If you're into having some retro stuff etc then you may as well but otherwise it's probably cheaper to get an hp microserver.
