Again another "racist" incident??? It amazes me how anything happens and its a racial issue :mad:

Pretoria - A black man claims he was spat on by a white gym member at the Virgin Active in Hatfield, Pretoria, according to a report on Sunday.

Brian Maluleke, 23, said he was scared to set foot in the gym again, City Press reported.

"I had started working out when I felt a cold liquid dripping down my ear and realised the white man next to me had just spat on my face," Maluleke told the newspaper of the incident on Tuesday.

"I asked him why he spat on me. He rudely said: 'It was a mistake. Sorry, dude. I was trying to lift a weight.'

Maluleke said other gym members did nothing to help.

"I was humiliated and scared. I was the only black person around and I didn't understand what was happening.

"I'd never seen my attacker before and we didn't have a confrontation prior to the attack."

According to the report, Virgin Active's managing director Ross Faragher-Thomas apologised and suspended the white man's gym membership.

The gym chain also helped Maluleke find a therapist and paid for his counselling.
 
Cold liquid? Since when is spit cold? Most probably sweat.

Sounds like another 'professional black' playing the race card for sympathy in lieu of the recent events. I'm pretty sure CCTV cameras around will clear it up easily to see if it was with intent.

I would agree although we do not know what happened, I just find it hysterical the poor guy had to go for counselling.
 
These 'men' need to man the f**k up and stop acting like women, looking for media attention.
Real men sort out problem there and then!
They don't act like they have a vagina and say "I'm scared to set foot in the gym again".

Amen, maybe his balls were in his wife's purse at the time? Waiting for law suit against the gym............
 
Once again, a event completely unrelated to race, is turned into racism. TIA
 
The guy was suspended for accidentally (if indeed that was (cold WTF) spit) spitting on him.... wow, I see a lawsuit coming.
I find it pathetic that some people (in this case being given the racial-upper-hand, no questions asked) are this... pathetic and think that they are being targeted 24/7.

The first two incidents may have had 'witnesses' (i.e. people who were sympathetic to the person on the receiving end), but this just reeks of BS to me. Seems like somebody is looking for attention and wants to exploit the recent VA incidents for their own gain. Lol why are people putting up with this crap? I'm waiting for this to be shown for the circus that it is - when people start claiming that random blacks in the gym are being racist towards them. Of course that may not work though since racism is only a one way street in SA.
 
All this is speculation without access to the video.

If deliberate, throw the book at the spitter.

If accidental, take away both their man-cards and their 'roids.
 
If someone spat on me in gym I would be just like wtf,the guy said it was an accident. If it was not an accident then I will be like arsehole in my head and carry on.
