Hi guys,
I've been playing BF2 online now since I've got my ADSL. I play on the SGS servers, Urban I and II and also the normal server. What I have noticed is that it's a LOT better to play on the urban servers than on the "open" maps. The whole team-play dynamic is better on the urban servers.
Being a big fan of flying games I want to "specialize" in handling the Apache and Jets in the game and have been practicing a lot online and I have to admit...I'm getting pretty good at it. But here's the crappy part: When playing on the SGS servers you have players that HOG the choppers and jets the whole time. They literally do NOT give other players a chance to fly the choppers or jets.....It's actually flippen annoying and it happens all the time.
So yeah...I guess the BF2 community is actually a lot more childish than what other people say it is. I know the CS: Source community has the reputation for being a bunch of kids...but they obviously haven't seen some of these BF2 players before!

Yup. Better to play late at night when they all go to bed.

Let me get this straight. You want to

in other words you want to "hog" the choppers and jets so you complain about the "specialized" players currently "hogging" the choppers and jets. From your quote it seems you have gotten some practice online but obviously not enough "hogging" to satisfy you.
Do I have that correct? Just checking.

Well, we all know there are people who shoots team mates in the back of the head etc. to get the BH for mega point farming. So, I think it is fair to complain about hoggers.

Dude...you're trying SO hard to be an @ss that you're actually completely missing the point that I'm trying to make. What I'm saying is that the aircraft get hogged SO MUCH SO that I cannot even get a single chance to gain some experience. I never said that I wanted to fly them the whole time but it's impossible to gain experience if no one allows you to fly once or twice in a game.
In fact, I even had a team-mate shoot at me when I was waiting my turn for the apache. Unfortunately for him, I'm also a specialised sniper and blew him to bits with a claymore, just to return the favor.

As you have your point of view so may I and if calling me an @ss makes you feel any better go right ahead. When I am on a team and half of them is standing in a que at the spawn point waiting for the ride of their choice you are missing the point of team combat games. You get shot standing in that que because YOUR teammates are getting annoyed because they are getting slaughtered while you stand in line doing your make-up waiting for a ride. The fact that they might shoot you at this point doesn't actually surprise me. When I see this I usualy try and swap sides anyway because it is only a matter of time before your team will find themselves pinned back anyway. So go right ahead, I will be on the other side picking you off in any way possible be it from chopper, tank, on foot, on my belley, from the top of the hill, etc.

Mr Anderson - I think most people will agree with your sentiments. Some, like Myrrdin, have slightly different view. And other are complete smacktards. But it can be done. The usual chopper whores tend to form 'closed' squads so the following approach does not work with them - don't worry about them - all they do is waste oxygen. Some of the 133t pilots are good and will fly around for a long time - but join the squad that they are in and let them know you'd like a ride/chance/turn and you may well get it. Sometimes civility works.
You can also pick your side or your map. Those maps you talk about tend to have a whole bunch of side stacking. Join the side that is clan heavy. They are out to point farm thinly disguised as playing with their friends. Not that I suggest that you become a point farmer - but eventually there will be helicopters and planes everywhere on the flight deck. I picked up my chopper licence with all of the munchkins about.
Think about some of the overseas servers for your jet badge. I know that the ping sucks and you cause grief for all the players when you are pinging in the 500s. But being in a jet has less affect as you move around fairly quickly. The game seems to try and balance co-ordination within an area containing the players with various pings. Again, join a squad and talk to people. Your German can only improve.
If the munchkins continue to be anti social you can try reporting them to the admins. Take screenshots if you can. It doesn't always work and it has already been mentioned that some are more equal than others. But it is a channel. And don't be afraid to use pgdn - sets back the point farmers a little.
And if you do find yourself pinned back and having your base raped - leave the server, have a cup of coffee, and rejoin a little later. There are worse things than not getting a turn like haxxor.
@Myrrdin - just a thought. The teammates doing the shooting while someone is in the line doing makeup or whatever - aren't they in the same queue?

Nope they just default spawned because by now they have lost all the front spawn points while Mr Anderson waits for his ride. :)
And I'm about to knife them in the rear so they are frantically shooting in all directions. :)

roflmao ....
I dont know how many times when flying a chopper and come back for a rearm , and repair , I have counted up to 12 people standing arround waiting for air assets..
And people wonder why their side gets raped.

Yeah well stuff it...I've decided to leave the flying alone because it seems general views on the servers (urban and vanilla) are that the "fly-boys" are n00bs anyways who can't handle a ground-fight to save their lives.
So be it...flying would have been fun...but I laugh each time I see a guy cause himself and 3 other players to be killed JUST because flying a chopper is the only thing he knows how to do.
