The new iPad 3 review (MyBroadband)

I see it lasts 25+ hours when used as an LTE hotspot with the screen turned off.

FiXED it for you :p.

Am getting one of these for grandfather due to the screen upgrade :). Discovering the internet at 85, he is impressed all the time. Now i just hear him mention the iPad on the phone speaking to family :D.

mmmm one more NEW review.

Ai, MyBB forumites will never be happy.
When they did an initial hands-on, we complained it wasn't a proper review and not detailed enough.
Now that we've got a very good, complete, detailed review... we don't want it?

If you didn't want to read yet another iPad review, then you didn't have to click on the article.

I think it's a great review.

FNB should get their act together please! Can't wait!

You're aware that the new iPad isn't available in SA yet and has only just been released in the US? MyBB probably specially imported this one from overseas (and the one they gave away) just for us.

Has the reviewer used an asus transformer prime? Im interested to know what the tegra3/IPS display is like in comparison. Its kind of hard to call it the best tablet on the market if you have not tried the transformer prime.

best on the market LoL. blaH BLAH BLAH. fan boy written,..
played with any other tabs???? prob not.....

Mature way of saying it.

Not so mature way of saying it.

Actually, yes. ASUS Transformer and Slider, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Motorola Xoom, HTC Flyer, Toshiba Thrive, and the Smart Tab 7. Also, while I haven't officially reviewed it, I do have a Blackberry Playbook. The only tablet not on that list that I would like to have there is ASUS Transformer Prime which has proven very hard to get.

Played with one extensively yesterday.

Alas as an iPad 2 owner - I came away less than impressed.

Cannot for the love of all things holy fathom the glowing reviews and hype.

The extra few grams of weight - can be felt. Period.

Sure, the screen is lovely, but there is a huge downside.

Websites look poor. Crisp text with huge patchy areas of low res graphics (akin to dot matrix printed graphics of the 80's) as the pictures' dpi cannot scale even close to the new iPad's screen resolution.

720P and 1080P videos don't look quite right - there's an element of unfinished upscaling here.

Photo's from your camera do, I can confirm, look brilliant.

Everything else is rather iPad 2S'ish. Which is what it should have been called.

Still a great device for anyone getting an iPad for the first time or upgrading from a 1.

I'll pass on this model, however. 2013 should see some truly revolutionary iPad changes. Until then, web developers have their work cut out for them creating HiDPI versions of their websites for this tablet.

It's kind of like having 10meg ADSL back in 1993 when 56K dial-up was more than enough and a photo on a webpage was the exception, not the norm.

I know it seems like magazine's and developers are still paying catchup.
When apple say jump, they say how high.

Then all of a sudden, you realize your data bundle isnt lasting as long anymore when those adverts are all super hi-res gifs...

Did samsung make the screen and cpu? I thought that relationship broke down long ago.

Ye, Sammy does screen and the A5X.
Did a quick Google to double check, and while there are lots of rumours about the screen, the teardown reckons it is Sammy who does the screen.

Haven't updated to IOS 5 yet but on theirr website it says that the updated Safari eliminates ads automatically.

So you have not used the transformer prime which on paper should arguably better, yet you say the new ipad is the best tab on the market?
Im not being fanboyish, I have an ipad 2 that I am very happy with, that and an android phone so I sit quite happily in both camps.

Asus prime is a better product for sure.

That is the only fail with the article.
