Absa to take legal action to shut down campaign

Will these companies never learn? They deserve the bad publicity that comes from taking legal action.

We continuously take feedback from our customers so that we can offer them first-class service. To achieve this, Absa needs to be organised to support the needs of clients.

First-class service from ABSA? The devil must be buying himself some nice warm gloves in preparation.
 
Me thinks the Streisand effect is gonna take hold here.
 
I keep reminding my mum and brother to change banks. Absa is the worst bank in South Africa. Their bank fees are sky high!
 
They've been denying it since January yet almost their entire IT department had to reapply for their jobs. As much as I had Standard Bank, at least when they retrenched 2 years back they had the balls to come out and say it. Also their profit wasn't up by over 20% on the previous at the time of them retrenching.

She wouldn't get it unless she culled some numbers from the payroll. Worth remembering that some CEO's are contracted to clear out individuals or do mass retrenchments. I've seen it. It ain't pretty.

Compare ABSA vs FNB approach to social media --- FNB had this massive crisis but were open and honest and I think they had even more credibility with me AFTER than they did before, and it is something that directly affected me. Absa is alleged to do something funky about an issue that I don't really have a direct interest in, and yet I am positively disgusted with ABSA.

Somebody needs to fire the entire ABSA's PR department.

And for those who still bank with ABSA - move your accounts now. Not because of them laying of some employees, but for them not having enough respect for consumers (i.e. you) to allow open dialogue about serious issues.
 
So who voted for Absa in the banking poll on the business forum? hehe

It truly is company's like this who are making themselves look like uncaring profiteering organisations who care nothing about the employee's who got them where they were. I guarantee you most of the retrenched employees were there 4 -5 times longer then the manager that pulled the trigger...

Very interesting!

The game has changed, FNB to a large degree initiated that change. Standard Bank and Nedbank are trying their best to catch up, and ABSA think they're untouchable. Typical attitude of major SA banks 10 years ago.
 
Years back went into ABSA to close my account due to poor service etc. Was told they can't help me there systems were off line and I need to come back to close the account WTF:sick:
Asked the lady behind the counter for a pair of scissors and proceeded to cut all my cards up there and then - and said they better close it.
Checked a while later and it was closed
Never had involvement with ABSA since then - honestly don't know why people still do FNB (and Standard) are leaps and bounds ahead of ABSA
 
I have never heard of this website... Cool, the Streisand effect strikes again. Now I will have to tell everyone :)

Big corporations get away with a lot in SA, because we are so complacent. Good on Solidarity for registering this site :D
