I think in a similar circumstance I would opt to be stabbed....

A Cape Town man has received counselling after he was apparently raped by a man dressed as a woman, it was reported on Friday.

Lt-Col Andrè Traut told the Cape Times the man, 26, was walking to the Groote Schuur hospital on Wednesday morning when someone who appeared to be a woman approached him in Bouden Street, Observatory.

The woman, holding a purse and wearing a wig and black miniskirt, confronted him with a knife.

The victim soon realised his attacker was male. The man forced him into an alleyway and raped him before fleeing. Police are searching for the attacker, in his thirties. - Sapa

Wow Cape Town. Way to go perpetuating the gay stereotype that you have!

I am not following. Cape Town is known as one of the gay capitols. Nothing wrong with that and I would not say it is a stereotype.

Men do get raped anywhere and that is a fact...be it a gay man raping another gay man, straight crim raping a male victim to keep keep the victim quiet via the shame of it. Not sure how this incident enforces a stereotype?

If the crossdressing rapist was wearing heels, I would have taken a chance and bolted.

Lol It was meant to be tongue in cheek. "cape town is so full of gay people, they're getting out of control now, going around raping everyone!"

How does the straight guy get a boner if he's straight and not attracted to the other guy? Does he pop a pill before going out on his crime spree? That always confuses me

I really dont know. I dont understand it either...but apparently it happens.

Just a note on this. I do think that rapists dont just do it cause they are horny. They do it for the thrill and power trip. The power trip of raping another guy alone might be enough to get them hard. Just a thought.

Exactly! It's totally a power trip, and if that is what turns you on, then that's what it is. You will probably find that the guy was straight anyway, because rape is certainly not something you would associate with being gay!

Reminds me of an interview with John Mongrel where he was bragging about all the men he rapes in prison. The interviewer asked him if that makes him gay and he replies "no! I'm not gay. He's the woman!"

Would not surprise me at all. When a gay guy does rape I would think it would more than likely be his partner instead of a stranger. Dont think gay guys a prone to prowling for rape victims. Same would go for violence ... would more than likely be towards partner than just a stranger. This of course is very much in the minority... so much so that it is definately the exception as apposed to the rule and considered rare I think...but you do get gay guys that rape and hit I would say.

Yes, it is a power thing.

Other wise there would be a lot of gay's in prison. Pretty much no one comes of of prison gay... but inside its a different story.
