Dark Fibre Africa talks about its fibre network growth plans

They installing fibre all over my area. Everywhere you look there is fibre being put into the ground with DFA signs being displayed. Awesome stuff. Hope my wisp takes note (hint hint, nudge nudge....I know you are reading this).

until dis fibre dream reaches the masses of ordinary citizens , I say dream on DFA, you are jst one of dem.

Telkom is better positioned, they just haven't realised they could make more money if they reduced the price of their 144 000 kms of fibre (facepalm). Maybe they need to finish the transition from ATM to IP before this can happen - anyone able to hazard an idea on this? It would be nice to know there is an actual technical reason rather than plain stupidity holding them up.

What?

"It is now up to the internet service providers (ISPs) to get fibre internet connections to the homes"
I can see how backbone pay for teh huge costs to dig up road , but I cant see how it is financialy viable for small business or home.

I see a opportunity for WISP to have fibre to their tower.
