I bought the Pavilion dv6-6077ei from Incredible Connection on 03/09/2011. In the beginning of February 2012 the Units HDD became faulty (the product was under the retailers warranty and product warranty). I phoned HP and was then told to take the unit to LetMeRepair in Midrand. I sent it in and received it back 2 weeks later. The Service Centre did not load all the factory settings and removed the recovery partition, the unit was also damaged. The LCD Bezel had harsh scratches on it so I sent it in for a second time to have these problems resolved.

After another 2 weeks I was told to go and fetch the Unit in Boksburg at 20h30 on a Friday night in Jet Park. I thought this would be the end of the drama but when I inspected the unit, I saw that the LCD bezel was replaced with one from an older Unit which had worse scratches on it, the bottom of my unit also had bad scratches, as if the technician rubbed the laptop over a surface with screws lying on it and The Unit is so slow and has late responses, which means the “new” HDD is possibly still faulty.

While all this was going on I spoke to both call agents from HP and LMR to demand a new Unit, but nothing was done! I had to wait another 2 weeks for the 2 damaged parts.

This Utterly pathetic company ordered the wrong parts! I cannot understand how this is even possible after a confirmed more than 5 times the parts that are damaged. They could not even phone me to tell me that they ordered the wrong parts!

I think I am entitled to a brand new Unit. From the beginning of February and now still things have not been resolved, new problems keeps coming up. And worst of all I’m Back to square 1 with the same HDD issue!
DO NOT EVER TAKE A FAULTY LAPTOP TO LETME(WRECK)REPAIR!

:(:(:mad::(:(

Thanks for the heads up. I have the same laptop... the only problem I am having with it is a noisy fan!

Take it back to the retailer! I ****ing hate LMR!!!!! most pathetic compant ever

Were experiencing the same issue's with LMR in the Garden Route as well, as the repairs for HP gets done, or has to be done by LMR it usually takes ages to get stuff sorted. We even stopped dealing with them & rather let the client sort it out directly.

We had a case where it took more than a month to replace a motherboard & even after that the machine still had problems.
A recent incident was when a client brought in her laptop that took ages just to post, after removing all the devices ie hdd rom ect, the machine would still take ages just to post. I suggested that she rather take it to LMR as it was still under warranty, after a few weeks she was back struggling to get her wifi working, I asked here did they replace the motherboard on the laptop & she replied no they changed the hdd(that I tested with seagate tools & passed) as according to them that was the culprit.

I then noticed that her mouse was faulty. I re installed the synaptics software but still the device didnt work, they had supplied her with a secondhand mouse to use, then I noticed that the OS she had on wasn't the same as the license on the bottom of the laptop.
Now explain to me how after I tested & found the hdd to be working they decide to replace it, re install Windows 7 on a licensed Windows Vista machine & not get the onboard mouse working & then just tell the client to use a old mouse that they had lying around.

That just doesn't work & is the main reason why we don't sell HP laptops anymore.

LetMeF-up is the biggest joke ever, and an embarrassment to local IT companies. I find it hard to believe there isint an authority that has'nt shut them down yet.

FYI, whenever you send in your laptop/pc to a repair place, they don't guarantee that your software/partitions would be as you left it. However, I do find it very disturbing that a company like HP would allow LMR to continue to service their laptops if they don't even restore factory default settings and/or the recovery partition. As a company (HP) I would also not like the fact that my clients' laptops are abused/scratched/damaged while in for repair.

So if I were you guys, I'd start complaining to HP themselves. If whoever you're talking to can't/won't help you (or is a complete and utter total douche-bag) then ask for a manager. If manager can't/won't help you (or is a complete and utter total douche-bag), then ask for their manager. Etc Etc Etc

Also maybe contact rpm for a possible story on MyBroadband about HP delivering sub-par service to their clients because of LMR. A little of bad publicity would go a long way with this instead of anonymously complaining on a forum.

Next time buy a Dell.

They will come out the next day and fix the laptop/pc on site instead of having the customer driving all over the place and waiting weeks for it to be repaired.

I have phoned everybody at LMR and they put me through to a Casey van Zyl, who is a superviser and he tries to help atleast, but keeps failing horrorbly. If you phone HP you are either put through to tech departmet or complaints... there is no other managers who they allow you to speak with just a royal dickfaced douchebag named LULAMA at the complaints and this rude jerkoff coughs on the phone and makes you wait!

They just do not give a rats ass! I just want the public to become aware of HP and Letmef-ckupRepair and how corrupt they are... isnt the consumers protection act suposed to be raping these *******s!

For an extra R900 rand or so, you could add a 3 year NBD warrenty to your HP laptop and get them to replace the part for you at the address of your choosing. What really pisses me off is that you have to ask for this in the quote, where as Dell just include it in the price.

I find LMR pretty useless as they charge to investigate the problem and then quote you an absorbantant fee to try replace it, I have left docking stations and all kinds of broken equipment there in their bottemless pit. But it's not the Techies that are to blame, it is their managment as they are obivously not paying for new spares and find it's cheaper to pull old parts of broken machines than request a new part from HP.

I doubt you will never get a new unit, They normally fix it. The only company I have ever seen give a new units out is Dell and that was because it a special case of the laptop being 3 days old and giving endless problems...

Is it possible to purchase a warranty at incredible connection now? And is there a way in hell for me to get a new laptop? LMR royally fuuuuuuudged my R15000 laptop up!

Certain reputable PC service centres go through qualitative ups and downs. Sometimes they get lucky and appoint good technicians with an innate good work ethic ... other times they are unlucky. Like me for instance. My first job (many years ago) was as a PC repair technician. I was mediocre technically wise (made lots of mistakes - not big ones but little ones) but I had a good work ethic (I learned quickly).

Maybe the OP was just unlucky with the dice.

dont you have a warantee with IC ot does this LMR people take the warantee

No I still have the warranty with IC I hope LMR did not take it... What can I do =( I spent 5 years saving money by workin in n bar! And then my dad and firneds and family helped with Bday money last year... I can't believe this! I just feel violated =( =( =( and there is nothing I can do!!!!

Phone HP and ask them if you can purchase a Care pack or purchase a NBD (next Business day) warranty from them for this laptop. I don't think they will sell you one due to age of the laptop, but it worth a shot.

They won't I'm done phoning them, the next time I phone them I want to yell at that dick in the complaints department and tell him that he is a F--king assssshole!!! Is there no way to destroy that company!

I know this is water under the bridge but you made a bad purchasing decision. Not trying to excuse these fsckers shafting you but you must try and avoid anybody that uses let me repair as their service agents.

Complain to HP head office in the US. Don't be rude, complain in a nice way setting out your experiences in a factual way with dates, emails etc etc.
