Fight for fibre rollout heads to the legal realm

That place they are talking about that I cant spell and can barely pronounce should just go without fibre, make your money is the decent metropols and then in 5 years time go, "Look, your area is now under serviced and point at them and laugh".

This goes for anyone who has to put up with moaners and groaners.

Someone cries about your cell tower, stop covering the area and wait for them to cry about signal.

To be honest, I don't beleive the full story has been told so this article is really incomplete. Both parties need to have their say but at the moment, only one party has and there is no context.
 
I think that it is reasonable to assume that someone feels that their palm should have been greased / wasn't greased enough ...
 
I see the FTTH Council's story has changed, originally they seemed to claim all current fibre laying had been stopped in "mid-trench" so as to speak and thousands were suddenly out of a job. It now transpires that actually no new "wayleaves" will be granted :confused:

IIRC the original story also mention no new wayleaves. This is a showstopper.

If this is government creating an issue to slow things down I hope they take the legal route against individuals in their personal capacity for not doing their jobs. FTTH Council fighting gov is a lose-lose situation for all of us and if it is a case of individuals in the council making rash decisions they need to be dealt with and made an example of.

My guess is EMM never sorted out a proper set of rules in the first place, the fibre guys have run amock laying cables willy nilly, there have been complaints and now as usual gov are trying to deal with a problem retrospectively causing even more harm. Forever fighting fires, never fixing the problem.
