Pandor disappointed over delayed SKA announcement

Not to be funny but taking SA's crime into account I would be shocked if we get it.

It will be in the middle of nowhere, with little or no human populations.
As it stands, we have the highest chance according to a few articles I've read.

Because thieves who steal metal are willing travel 200 km into the middle of nowhere, in a controlled reserve so they can try and dismantle huge dishes which weigh tens of tons without setting off any alarms, like... say.... "RECEIVER HORN X OFFLINE", at local and central offices which being in SA would do nothing given that the usage time has already been allocated so much that it's in effect 2 continuous years of scanning at the least?

Politically this country is not as stable as Australia and I think that will influence the decision.

I think that will be the influencing factor. SA has the climate and location but it also has the incompetence and idiots in power. The knowledge factor can be easily shared/imported from other countries so to me it's a 50/50. Whoever wins, it will be marginally.

We have the Europeans on board, and China-Aussie relations are not looking too good, with the US moving major military assets to the Pacific and building bases in Australia... and added to the fact, that euro-rand exchange rate is beneficial...-we will get the nod, as for being politically unstable, - as always, i have hope for this place, I call home.
 
SA pretty much had it until the aussies started their propaganda after the official report recommending SA as the technically superior site was released which has now led to the delay.
Still confident we'll get it.

Minister Pandor is not one of the clowns from that goon show. She is one of the few I have respect for. So unless you have specifics you would like to site here about her, I would refrain from bracketing her with the others from the ANC government.

PS. Not that it will much to all; the DA rates Pandor very highly.

I am not sure that would be the best scientific outcome. It starts to worry me when they start talking like this. It's one or the other.

Perhaps for me the most concern about a decision being awarded to SA. Our ANC lead government appears to be more focused on its power struggles than on governing the country. Eish! :(
