I just wan't your thoughts on this if you have one of these accounts.

I have one and it is just driving me nuts.

The base local account works fine and at full speed.

The VPN is another story. Ever so often I can not log into it and mostly when I can the speeds I get are basically non-existent. Hell, my dial up modem used to do a better job. The account comes with a 10GB cap for international but I need not worry. With the speeds I get there is no way that I will be capped this month.

Would I recommend the VPN account? Hell, yes, if you wan't to throw R349 in the water.

Am I the only one with these problems or are there others with the same frustration? If you have one of these accounts I would like to hear how it worked out for you.

Voodoo, Openweb seems to be creating the VPN's over ADSL in and using standard ADSL lines out (no guarantees)!! They are useing AYCE accounts to accomplish this!! Seems like there is lots of room for error!! They won't be around very long if they cant do it properly!

Interesting opinion...

Why else would you be on AYCE top 10 user list evryday!!

Am I not allowed to download personally?

I am a great supporter of AYCE, and suggest them to ANYONE needing a SAIX account.

Who says we have 8 accounts with them concurrently?

I could use one, and move to the next.

Who says some of our clients dont have AYCE accounts through us?

Anything is possible really, isn't it?

Yes sure!! Any time!! 8*30gig!! worth of personal downloads?

Looks to me like these accounts are being systematically raped?

The point being??

So, judging from your theorem, I am NOT allowed to:

a) Use an AYCE account
b) Sell AYCE accounts via OpenWeb
c) Use over a certain amount of bandwidth. If I do, then apparently my entire network is built using AYCE accounts?

My friend, If I was to run my VPN's, OpenBrowse and entire network on ADSL using Usage based accounts, I would be bankrupt.

I am now tired of entertaining your ridiculous, unfounded statements.

I would rather spend my time supporting my clients.

masterme21 if you hinting that Mr. Beep is up to no good then please provide some sort of proof. But he has done nothing but try to help us due to the sorry state of telecoms. He was the first person to step up and offer an unshaped proxy for free at his own expense when Telkom were shaping every protocol out of existence. Me and many others rape our IS accounts because we are using what we paid for. Many people would also like to get the most out of their AYCE accounts. Unless you got some hard evidence, don't try and ruin this man's reputation out of pure speculation

Yeah dude, give us some facts about which to talk or get a life and stop attacking the one isp trying to help its customers and make a positive change in sa telecoms!

Once again a thread has been derailed.

Now accusations and theories are flying around. If you read the quote you will see that all I asked was how the account worked for other users.

You will notice that nowhere did I attack MrBEEP or Openweb. I clearly only stated what my feelings on VPN was. I can categorically state that the service from MrBEEP is always professional

MrBEEP, apologies for the furor this thread has caused. :o

Don't be sorry Voodoo, it's not your fault that there'll be a few dimwits seeking to use constructive threads as a means of serving their own agenda's.

Hehe, thats the problem with South Africa, in general! every one has a hidden agenda! Some guy wants to know about a service and then some one comes and changes the entire direction of the thread.

To get on topic
I was having a fairly painless experience with the VPN, once I changed to Bridged mode. The only problem I had was the fact that there was only one concurrent on the VPN, but figured out that would be what ICS was for :D
I did have the disconnect problem at least twice a day, but XP did the reconnect fairly well.
Pity it is no more though :(

Hey Voodoo,

Unfortunately, I've been having similar probs with the VPN account. For the last few days I can't even access international at all, lots of probs getting not being able to connect and getting disconnects sometimes when I'm on.

I haven't gone over my cap, probably used +-3gigs of the VPN portion.

I personally wouldn't recommend it until Mr. Beep has managed to iron out these problems.

Been happy with all my other OpenWeb accounts so far though ;)

At this moment in time he won't even be able to apply for it as MrBeep has discontinued it until further notice :(
