Article: Zille defamation case against Malema heads to High Court

Lawyers for Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille will approach to Cape High Court on Tuesday in a bid to speed up a defamation case against ANC Youth League president Julius Malema.

"It's related to case from two-and-a-half years ago of a defamation case against Julius Malema... among others," her spokesman Jordan Hill-Lewis said on Monday.

Hurt feelings?? Is that what you think this is about?

Would've been a lot cheaper and a lot more effective if Zille came out saying that the insults would only really matter if she cared about Juju's opinion on matters.

Besides, a defamation cases? Really? Has Zuma vs. Zapiro not taught anyone anything? Or would that be admitting that some people were hypocrites?

Maybe, makes a lot of sense what you have said but there needs to be rule of law and if people break laws they need to be punished.
I think the Zapiro incident was very different

I agree with her, give it a bash and if she wins then it'll be for the better in the long run as JM will need to mind his mouth in the future as I believe he unfortunately is not a has been and will rise up again. Also it'll fire a warning shot at any other ANC politician that has some wise ass comments.

Uhhh... if you haven't noticed by now Julius Malema and his haters FEED off his name in the headlines. It's only going to bring him more infamy.

I will gladly pay the lawyers fees through my taxes if that literal bastard can be cut down to size.

Only if he wins. They will soon stop backing a loser

Malema ordered to pay Zille's legal fees

Western Cape High Court Judge Nathan Erasmus on Tuesday penalised ANC Youth League leader (ANCYL) Julius Malema for not complying with court rules in preparation for a defamation case.
Malema, spokesperson Floyd Shivambu, Andile Lili and the ANCYL are each being sued for R350,000 for defaming Western Cape Premier Helen Zille.
The action stems from comments made during the general election campaign in 2009.
Erasmus lambasted the respondents for not complying with court rules, by failing to provide Zille with information she required, in preparation for the trial.
He granted a punitive cost order against them, which means they will have to fork out for the premier's legal fees.
The judge said the courts must sanction litigants who do not comply with the rules.
Erasmus gave them an April 24 deadline to provide Zille with the relevant documentation.
In her application, she alleges that several comments were made, including Shivambu’s remarks that “Zille is a fake racist girl”.
Malema also said he would not debate with “a group of racist Helen Zille garden boys.”

The little cockroach thinks he is above the law.
Time for a lesson or two in reality. :D

I wonder how much hurt feelings are costing the DA's pocket?

not as much as the rampant theft and misappropriation of public funds by the ANC elite and their cronies costing the tax payer !

It's all about principles.
