Is service at Joburg International Airport collapsing?

A few weeks ago I returned to the country with an SAA flight. All went well until the plane was parked.

Then dissaster struck: ACSA forgot to send buses to collect us. It took them almost 30 minutes to get their act together.

Last week my folks returned from Cape Town with 1-Time. Again all went fine until the plane was parked.

This time ACSA forgot to send a driver for the mobile stairs - people had to scramble down the steep and narrow steps at the back of the plane to get to the waiting buses.

1 Failure could still be considered as an exception. But 2 within a small roup of people?

Anyone else had recent experience of service levels at JIA?

I'm sorry I think I misread your post..

You mention service and JIB in the same sentence, surely this is a mistake>??

:)

compaired to even places like Detroit (which is a kuk airport if ever I've seen one) JIB is bad. The queues at check in are shocking, there is no sembelence of order, parking is a mess.. need I go on.. Oh how I will laugh when 2010 comes around and the whole of SA's tourist infrastructure collapses..
