Something is SERIOUSLY wrong with ADSL. World of Warcraft is unplayable, FTP is TERRIBLY slow and non-reactive...
It's broken and it doesn't look like anyone is doing anything about it.

My openweb Internet Solutions account works just fine. Torrents are maxing out my line!

ADSL is going downwards people, thats probably why Telkom decided to upgrade their network. Maybe they saw that the network is starting to fall apart.

Turned off torrent because torrent speeds were barely touching 1Kbps. Upload speeds were faster but only about 4Kbps. Not worth waiting any longer, a torrent that should have finished yesterday was still predicting another four days.

i'm also getting packet loss AND my torrent downloads suck. funny thing is that the uploading is maxing out at about 20kBps but dloading barely touches 3kBps. also had to stop seeing that i was juz wasting my bandwidth. this sucks.

In JHB - can't get over 25kb/sec DL and 10kb/sec UL. 1meg ADSL

This appears to be isolated to certain SAIX ranges only. One of my sites is getting 20% packet loss to international sites. It is the 165.146 range. Another site has a 165.145 range and is working fine. It appears they take a totally different route back to SA!
Just got hold of SAIX's support. There are a couple of other calls logged for the same issue. The chap on the phone has promised that the first call has been escalated. Let's hope this is sorted out quickly!

i find out this problem from friday.. Just know you guys also got a problem? I stay in pretoria. Do u know when will they solve it out?
But the problem is i using flashget... it can go to maximum 40 - 50 kk... So i think it is only problem for torrent user..

My adsl is also a bit poked, it started on sunday. I'm also having the problems with torrents downloading helluva slow and uplading at almost 5 times the dl speed. Im in jozi on saol.
rasputyn, what are the first two numbers in your IP? 165.146?
Telkom claims they have fixed the problem, but they haven't. We're giving up and moving to Verizon for a few weeks.

I also have sucky speeds on torrents :(
Can't do much with my AYCE account at the moment!

Still not resolved for us. We're running on Verizon at the moment, at twice the price. At least it's working though.

well, mines still fux0rd aswell
I suggest you guys hassle your ISP who in turn will do the same to SAIX. Only if they get enough complaints will they do something. Mention the "165.146" range. Perhaps if they hear it a couple of hundred times, the penny might drop. :(

My torrent speeds last night (Tuesday, 2 May) were pretty much as per normal. Seems like the problem has been resolved.

I'm going to switch back to SAIX at lunch time and see how well things are working.
Edit to add: Just switched back now, and it's working perfectly. I am getting a 165.165.x.x IP though.
