SA Cinema houses age restrictions

I was about to book our tickets to watch The Avengers tomorrow when I noticed the age restriction, 10v. The international age restriction for this movie is PG13.

This means we can't go watch the movie because my 5 year old son won't be allowed into the cinema.
10v means any kid 10 years and older can watch the movie without his parents present.
PG13 means any kid under 13 won't be allowed to watch the movie without his parents present.

This sucks.
 
reread you own definition of PG13 then think.

your son is 5
you are his parent
you are present

Why do you want to take a five year old along to a PG13 movie, or even a 10v movie?
 
Personally, I don't think the attendants will give a **** about the age restriction or ask to see your child's ID... lol. If you bought the tickets online, go get your popcorn or whatever, walk in as if you're supposed to be there and do it.

I haven't seen *anyone EVER* be turned away just because their kids looked younger than the age restriction of the movie.
 
How do you explain to a 5 year old that he can't see most of the super heroes he likes because they hit each other and blow each other up? That is what they are supposed to do.
 
ah sorry then fail on my part, yeah they wont let him in if they are doing their jobs.

Try enjoying a LOUD, full of explosions and fighting film and some selfish, NO-idea cretins have been allowed to bring in a baby in a PRAM. That proceeds to bloodywell wail its lungs out (as they do) and they don't (at first) take the damn thing out.

This was at the Nu Metro in Galleria. I had ...words with the manager afterwards. Who was 'horrified' that her staff had allowed them in ..or at least seemed to be. But, she told me, not only can you go and call the manager to get such people removed from the cinema, you can also go to them for incessant talkers. But who does that - the leave the running film for which you've paid?

Lol I watched godzilla and I was underage without my parents :D phone and ask the cinema

For a five year old? What about an awesome movie with nudity, or sex? Frankly, I think it's easier to explain to a child why adults would have consensual sex, than why adults are killing and hurting each other. But it seems most people think the reverse is easier. Go figure. :whistle:

Especially for a 5 year old! Would you prevent your kids watching Tom and Jerry? :whistle: Or absolutely any other animated program, which almost always features violence somewhere along the line...

As for the rest, say what? You think its important to explain sex to a five year old, someone who most likely has zero concept of it. Whereas violence, which the kid probably already experienced should not be explained? Nevermind being able to teach a kid the difference between fiction and reality.
 
Buy the tickets online! Take your son along and to hell with the people deciding on your behalf, what your kid can and can't see.
This is a superhero movie, yes there is going to be some explosions, a few fights, maybe a death or two, etc. Nothing worse then what they see on tv already.
