What with Vodacom/Vodafone modem re-branding I wonder if the K3772z is UMTS/CDMA 900Mhz capable and what is the unbranded name of this modem.

It seems it is UMTS 900 capable:

Please post here if you manage to find the equivalent ZTE model number. You can try looking in MDMA's device information, the reported model number or firmware version might give some clues.
