I have noticed that this app does not allow search by street number eg. 20 Long St,Cape Town whether on or off line mode. Tried changing the format to eg. 20, Long St, Cape Town. The search always results in not finding. Typing Long St only reveals results associated with Long St but no street number like with a Garmin device. Has anyone else experienced the same?

Have you tried other addresses or is it just that street that doesn't allow for number searches?

Trying to help, dont have a Windows Phone but I know some navigation applications is not always up to date re street numbers.

All street number address. It would appear that this app does not accommodate search by number as the Garmin type. The Nokia Maps do search by number though.

I used it yesterday and It took me right to the door. But it has just taken me to the road before too.

Thanks but this FREE app works well, lets hope an updated version will allow for more comprehensive search fields like Garmin/Garmap that has the abilty to search by Number in a Street and more.:D
It is patently clear that the present version of Nokia Drive does not have the ability to search by Number in street, on the other hand it forms part of a AWESOME PHONE in my opinion.

Sorry, I have to disagree again. I just got home from going to esquire in durban. It took me right to their door (number 26 I think). It definitely wasn't random.

@ Roguemat
If yours works by street number useing my example again - 20 Long St, Cape Town and this is an excisting address at present.
  • What is the correct sequnce or format of entry then?
  • What am I doing wrong for it not work properly as stated by yourself?
  • The User Manual for this App does not indicate search formats etc. so what now?

So I have to disagree again until the contary can be proved beyound reasonable doubt and not on the balance of propabilities. The lastest South African map has been installed plus I am using version 2.0 of Nokia Drive so all the hardware is correctly installed and operating to spec.
Sir now please show us the facts you know my Email details etc.

I just took these screenshot, which I think proves it. At the very least some roads have number data and some don't. The first one shows what format I searched with.

EDIT: Just realized I should have searched for your cpt address. Will post more screens now now.
click right to view the multiple screenshots I did moving down the road.

EDIT 2: Sorry, didn't set sharing right. I dumped them all in a public folder now: https://skydrive.live.com/redir.asp...48E25832234B0156!106&authkey=!AEpPBbx8gLqP-Ys

Tried the Skydrive links but cannot open them at present.Requesting me Sign In, when it is done tells me it does not belong to me - still cannot read or see anything within those links. Have refered this Nokia Drive problem to Nokia RSA and Customer Care.

Tried the search format of 30 Long Street, Cape Town resulting in the little blue dots running L to R on display as if it is seaching on line, producing no results after 5 min - wasting data. What now.

Very weird. I just tried doing the same search in flight mode, offline, and it still worked perfectly.
I'm on version 2.0.0.2148 and you?

I notice your "Set Destination" Screen just below the search window does not display a town name, mine displays a town that does not change, only when in a diffirent area. Is there something wrong here? Yes I am using 2.0.0.2148

Weird, mine does actually have it there too, but I am inside, and it may not have got a fix on my GPS location by the time I took the screenshots.

EDIT: what happens when you search for that esquire address?

Proplem solved - Study the "Nokia Drive 2.0 User Guide and you will notice that no where it states that you need touch the "Backspace Key" after entering your search destination. This user guide makes look as if the search is automatic, typical of manuals written by Asian speakers.Yes now I agree with your statement - Can navigate to a street number - this is a fact. Perhaps you could assist Nokia to rewrite these user manuals so that they speak/read english.
Still think it is an AWESOME PHONE with a AWESOME OS.
Thanks
