Verbatim store and go USB 3 1TB portable hardrive

Help!!


Bought one of these a week ago

Happily downloaded movies and pictures and such like ... then last night decided to to a backup using their nero backup software, chose the automatic option and ... it wiped all the file on the portable hard drive inclusive of all pre-installed software such as the user guides etc.

Even the verbatim name disappeared and when I looked for it in the control panel it was listed as "new drive" seriously all I did was click on their automatic backup option. Pissed of about the movies as I had deleted from my laptop, but I can ge3t them again. All the data and pictures etc are still on the laptop so I can save those again, but all the pre-installed software??? where the heck do I get that again

Seriously don;t know what went wrong here and would appreciated some advice about where to get lost software and about using the device to both backup my laptop and to store data as I do not want this to happen again.

Any advice and / or master classes on "using portable hard drives for dummies" would be appreciated

Another strange thing yesterday I was scanning documents using my sister's laptop and printer ( easier cos it is all connected) with my store and go and it worked perfectly but of course the documents I scanned were wiped, so today I tried to do the same thing and although you can see the hard drive in the path, when I tried to save scanned documents , there was something about not recognizing or being able to access the path, and yet I cann access the store and go perfectly from my laptop (which is not linked to the printer!!!)

You could try to recover the deleted files from your HD using a recovery tool. The best one I've found is Recuva. Saved my ass quite a few times.
