Article: Reduce police staff by 9,000 says Treasury

So its OK to waste tens of billions of rands on unnecessary e-tolling gantries, but they want to cut the police force.

Well since paid parking is the new in thing we need a bunch of Boetebessies. They do not need weapons.

Naidoo said the police had appointed around 55,000 new members between 2005 and 2009 ahead of the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

So no growth for that sector in jobs for the next few years. Yeah Jobs are on the increase in SA.

Well this isn't necessarily a bad thing per se... as long as they reduce the number of useless admin staff rather than the actual police on the ground in the communities..


BUT we all know that they will take the easy route and reduce actual policing numbers rather than useless admin staff.
