SAIX has decreased their leased line (Silver class) cost by around 40% over the last 6 months.... (images of many soiled Telkom pants due to competition)

our 1mb leased line pricing has dropped from 27k/m to 15k/m, an interesting little aside....

1mb leased is good for around 326gb a month with no complaints from Telkom about abuse...

ADSL = no guarantee's, limited upload speeds, woefully oversold services...

now 326GB at wholesales rates R54/GB (forget line costs...) will cost around R17604

huh? maybe I'm missing something but shouldn't ADSL be substantially cheaper...

It's always been in their best interests to keep ADSL prices artificially higher so that they can make a killing off Diginet.

Diginet is being decreased because they don't want to loose lines by people moving to ADSL. Flippen STUPID that they do it like that though...

Those drops are astonishing. At that rate, I'll be able to afford a 512kb diginet for personal use at home :P Maybe it's time to call my contacts at Telkom and do something... hmmmm... Interesting

Knew it came down, didn't know it came down THAT much

Damian, if you have a silver class line, your International portion is supposed to be limited to 1/4 of the total access speed. I know of several companies who do have this limit, so I guess you're in luck.

Didn't see this one till now...

hook up to the primary SAIX cache server cache.saix.net and you have full bandwidth.
