Starting small student PC sales and support - what do you charge?

Me and a friend want to restart a small PC sales and support business we had going a couple years ago to bring in some extra income mainly for friends and family. We already have accounts with all the suppliers for sales which doesn't exactly bring in huge money. Would be interested to know roughly what any of you charge for the following

1. Average commission added to full PC/laptop?
2. If the PC is custom built and bought with Windows, do you charge for Windows installation? If so how much?
3. Do you make use of suppliers courier for PC/laptops to deliver straight to customer, or collect on your own?
4. How much do you charge per hour for call outs? Do you charge for petrol?
5. Is your price the same for servicing if they bring everything to you?
6. If you are called out, do you ever make client aware of outdated software and charge extra for regular maintenance (updating antivirus, Flash, service packs, etc)?
7. If someone buys hard drive, RAM etc and cannot install themselves, how much do you charge on top of the sale?
8. How much for complete Windows reinstall (backup files, Windows + install drivers, restore files)?
9. If we were to ask another student to join as techie, what would be a fair amount for each of us as we organized them the job?

4. Petrol is fair.. Per hour depends on your own knowledge. You can't charge R400p/h if you don't have the knowledge to do simple tasks.
5. Petrol filters and Oil filter and air filter should all be inclusive in the basic service
6. Are you using their internet to update their anti-virus? Then no. Are you carrying around update files for every conceivable AV, then maybe.

9. Huh? Is the new person working for you? Shouldn't you be paying salary in that case? Is he working and giving percentage back? Then probably 10%

Thanks for the reply 1. Yes margin, we generally check what other shops on pricecheck sell for and try beat all if not most shops. 3. Just interested to know if people make use of suppliers courier service to deliver to clients as it is not necessary to deal with the client if they can setup on their own (and send invoice via email). 4. I generally charge between R100 and R200 an hour depending on the job which I think is more than fair. Very general work.. fixing internet problems, windows problems, setting up basic networks and whatnot 6. No, I always have latest definitions and software updates on a USB drive 7. Eish, charge an hour for putting in a stick of RAM? I know most people have no problem charging or paying that but it's literally 2 seconds work, hehe 8. Would be interesting to see what other people say as well. Sometimes waiting for Windows to install can take 30-60 minutes and transfer times backing up to USB takes quite some time too - might work out quite a bit? 9. No salary. We only service a handful of people, so when either of us are unable to go to a call out (due to study work) we can ask a third member to do the job.
