RIM mum on SA job cuts

Research in Motion (RIM) is looking to cut between 2,000 and 6,000 jobs in the next few weeks, according to reports - but there is no word from the once-leading smartphone manufacturer whether these cuts will impact the South African operations. more
 
I clicked on the link thinking the SA link in the title would get substantiated with things like the number of people working for RIM in SA, but no. Why is that? Is it because you don't know because you do go into the global figures?
