adderley street has been total chaos for much of today with striking security guards trashing cars, breaking windows, looting etc - most businesses have closed up and sent staff home

very difficult to explain to the overseas client you're on the phone with why there is gunfire outside yr window

by all means strike but ffs people.........

Now me not being the wise old man that knows everything.

But if jobs are being lost to china, shouldn't with that great ability most people have something i like to call "logic". That striking is not going to create more jobs. Most likely will end up losing jobs. Companies will move somewhere, that the staff do what there paid to do. Not to not do their jobs and jump and run around like a bunch of retards with a head full of E.

Its so simple, stop the striking and people will invest. Strike and be retarded and people wont. Its simple!!!!!

Why are people still following these unions? isn't it about time we got rid of them and started making South africa a better place for investers...
 
The anc would loose out if unions were abolished isn't it a major voting base for them, its like the one of the 1st things i associate with anc.

unions are good in some cases, but these recent union marches seem to look more and more like a mob which can be nasty. 1st time i hear it happening in cpt, always see things happening in jhb etc hope thursday is peaceful.

Where are all these BEE companies that suppose to be creating jobs ???
I have 3 companies ready to go bussiness plans written and I know they will work BUT I cant bet finance .... WHY you ask ... cuz i have to give a large percentage of it to black partners even tho the comanies provide job oppertunities they wont even look at my applications. Cosatu need to ask government what the use of BEE is if it cant create jobs.
Does Cosatu know that many companies pull out of South Africa due to having unreliable workforce issues ? And yes strikes fall into unreliable workforce issues. Even Toyota have said the only thing that bothers them in SA is the unreliable workforce. It costs companies mega bucks when ever there is a strike, in a big corp a loss of one days production could mean millions.
Striking harms the economy. Sure it makes people take note but strike every now and then and companies wont have the money to fork out for wage increases they need to recover from manufacturing loss. New investors or interested investors look and go "oh they striking there again is it such a good idea to manufacture there ?"

We need more investment and this gives the country a bad image.

anyway this is my view of the whole thing flame away.

Low inflation linked wage increases I reckon is responsible for the upward trend.
