Children also have a right to be safe when thy are at school, and a right to not be afraid that they will be stabbed to death whilst sitting in maths.

How could they possibly distrust adults more if it in for their own good. The only people who I can see becomming distrustful are the thugs that bring these sorts of things to school.

Hey - if searches or metal detectors are what needs to be done to keep my kid safe in school then so be it - just so long as its done the right way.

Its not going to stop kids from trusting adults - but kids bringing weapons into schools - well that definitely going to make them stop trusting each other.
