Hi,

I've got a store in Kwanakuthula - near Plett (Knysna). It doesn't seem to have any 3G signal (2G at best). I've mounted an external 3G antenna on site but it doesn't seem to have done much in terms of signal boost. Can anyone advise if Vodacom (current provider) can help in this regard? I really need some form of internet there and i'm starting to think that satellite might be the only way!

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
J

No fixed line service? I remember (a few years ago) that Telkom pre-provided pipes to the entire area of Kwanakuthula.

Do you know roughly the population size of this Kwanakuthula place? If there is enough demand and it makes financial sense then Vodacom might consider putting up a 3G tower. My mom lives in Vredendal in WC and that is very rural...has a population of 16,164 and they are covered by Vodacom 3G.

This is the coverage in that area at the moment. Vodacom might be planning on expanding it in the future.

A good idea might be to email [email protected] and request that they check with network & radio planning to see if their is not maybe any plans in the pipe line for your area.
