Hey guys, so i finally made up my mind on what 2nd panel to get. I was first keen on the 51 Full HD plasma, but when i saw the price for the D6000 LED and it's PQ, i was more keen on that.

So, picked it up with a 20m HDMI cable as i gotta run it to my bedroom.

So, as the dion wired dude was trolly'ing it to my car... I noticed a dent in the box. My sister was with me, so i told the trolly dude (who worked for dion wired) "dude, theres a dent in the box, hope the tv is not broken"..
Guy said "no no no, it has not been opened"... sooooo I take it home, open it open, screw it onto the stand - press power... and what do i get... (see screenshot) ;-)

was quite dissapointed, but ok... tried to call them immediately, they closed at 4 though :( Walked out of the shop at about 15 min before closing.

Hope they replace this thing. only had it for under 4hrs :(

any advice?

I've packed it back in the box as is.

yeah dude, just worried about what they can say?

Cant they say "well, you shouldve told us about the dent when i brought you the box."??? If push comes to shove, I'll get my sister to come in and i'll drag that other dion wired employee who pushed my trolly to both play witness that it was dented when they gave it to me

I would get there as soon as they open tomorrow morning and demand to see the manager and explain that you spoke to the guy and told him already the box was damaged and said its fine.
I think you going to have a fight on your hands bud. I hope not

Should be ok I reckon. I even called the call centre (customer service centre) at 16:45 on the dot to report it (had to leave a msg).

I shouldve known though, cause i was tailing the salesman gathering all the goodies in the shop like an excited little kid (3d glasses, 20m hdmi cable)... and when he went in the back (which has a little windows for me to peak through), he was shuffling around boxes of D6000's. Maybe he gave me the dented one on purpose :wtf: doubt that, but didnt like the way he was operating the boxes in the first place, kinda kicking them from side to side. Let's hope their customer service is as good as their 'salesman's' skills are ;-)

I think so. Bought a LG IPS235V monitor from them a few weeks ago, the first one was missing interface screw lugs. Took it back and they swapped for another one on the spot.

yeah, think so too! Thanks bud :-)

Will keep you guys posted and post some reviews from my side re: panel with dark/lit room +3d performance. Thinking of doing a little youtube review ;-) *lame* but def keen

Apparently 3-4 big screens tv's out of every 100, get damaged during installation if not done by a professional. It will be interesting to see if they take it back. The thing is, you should have not accepted it in the first place. It will be difficult to prove that it was broken before hand. A while back a friend of my friend dropped his LCD during installation. Wifi Corporation refused to replace it and he took 5 friends with him to say that it was broken when they open it. Apparently it could have got damaged during transport to your house and obviously the dealer is not responsible if you transport it on your own. Wish you luck and let us know.

Agreed, sorry man but if it was my store I don't know if I could accept that it was not you.
I hope I am wrong though. Point is you got to check everything before you buy it these days :(

This is why I am more and more inclined to open up a product I'm going to purchase and test it out properly before walking out of a store. I'm also starting to get why my dad has been doing that exact same thing for decades.

You went through all the effort of taking it out of the box, looking at the screen the whole time, screwing it onto the stand while looking at the screen the whole time, and only noticed the screen is smashed after you switched it on?

Wii-mote shaped crack there ;)

Seriously, hope you come right. That there sucks.

Good luck, I reckon you won't have a problem getting it swapped.

We should know in about 25 minutes!

What camera you got? Hopefully DSLR. ;)

All sorted - replaced without any problems :) its in my boot right now. This time, inspected the box + opened jt up in store. All good. Got a couple of meetings to attend, will take some pics later when I've set it up

Yes, a crack on the screen is not the first thing one looks for when u buy something new. You expect it to be 100%, if second hand - given, those tests and checks are required. New? No
