Anyone gone this route?

Also, which line do you rate the best value for money? 192, 384 or 512.

This is for a home office. email, web access, occasional large download, Skype.

Thanks.

I would say start with 192 and see if that is fast enough for you.

None of the lines are good value for money.

The best used to be 384, as u often got close to 512 speeds on it, but telkom have long since 'corrected' that :(

How large are these occasional large downloads?

dude let telkom do the install

do you want to wait on the phone for 5 hours to the tech who is verifying its working ?

where as if it was a telkom tech phoning him he would answer

up to you though

I did the self install which was painful up to the point that we discovered that the supplied filter (non-Telkom) was causing the problem. Went and got the Telkom filter, made sure the modem/router was plugged in as instructed and that was the end of the nonsense. Worked like a charm since.

The thing which irritated me the most is that I was told the installation was done, but phoning technical support resulted in being told that it wasn't done according to the system.

Considering how much time I spent on the phone trying to have it resolved, it may have been cheaper getting them out there in the first place. I just have an aversion to anyone coming into the house though.

Good luck!
