yah so i was watching mnet tonight since they left it on, and i was wondering.. do they do this on purpose or what? I mean we pretty much watched till a few momments ago un-interrupted :) (no we don't have a decoder) though now its off sort of since it goes on everynow and then.

So i'm trying to think of reasons it happens, mebbe some worker realises he is not on shift and is gonna miss a movie he wanted or something hehe.. -shrug- not that i'm complaining.

There was a problem with MNet at Tygerberg today, maybe that could be it?

ah mebbe thats it. I notice that this happens every now and then, not just mnet but supersport too sometimes on a different freq/channel.

ja.. I also remember the days of hoping my Mnet would stay on so that I could watch past the simpsons and all that.. then we just got Mnet.
It did often stay on for like a hour extra, or at least a few minutes.

But I thought they were cancelling opentime?

It happens every now and then. Till what time were they "open?"
I wouldn't be surprised if it is deliberate - free marketing. They can just claim it was a technical fault. Nobody can prove anything.

Open time staying open used to happen much more frequently in the olden days, especially on nights when there was a movie right after open time. They keep it open for about 10 minutes, you start watching the movie, just get into it and they kill it. Excellent marketing ploy, as most would go: "Ag darnit, this looks like such a good movie. I should get MNet"
