Article: Volkswagen to finalize full takeover of Porsche

German carmaker Volkswagen says it is on track to finalize the full takeover of sports car manufacturer Porsche by the end of the month.

Volkswagen AG said in a statement late Wednesday Porsche AG will become another fully integrated brand of the Volkswagen group as of August 1.
 
I think this story is being somewhat oversold..

Ultimately Porsche (the family) own both VW and Porsche... they're just consolidating their holidings into a single company from what I can gather..

Yes, the other shareholders will benefit without a doubt, but its not like VW are waltzing in and buying Porsche, if anything it happened the other way around.
 
I can already see the main manne putting porsche badges on their GTi's :erm:

It would probably not make any real difference to the brands.

So they are just going to fill the VW's with Sasol to turn then into Porsches?
