Article: SARS can soon search your business without a warrant

Legislation allowing the SA Revenue Service (Sars) to search business premises without a warrant is expected to come into operation within the next three months.

The Tax Administration Bill was promulgated into law on Wednesday in the Government Gazette, Sars said in a statement on Thursday.

The problem is that SARS are not going after tax dodgers like they say they are.
They have no idea how to do that.
They are instead clamping down on regular and honest tax payers and trying to squeeze more money from them by auditing them over and over.
If anyone runs a profitable and honest business they would know this.

We are not complaining though... despite all the hard work, we have managed to find several hundred thousands rands worth of stuff we missed and have claimed the money back from SARS through both VAT and PAYE.

As I said in my post that got deleted... this appears to a recourse for exceptional circumstances
 
Paying tax in this country is tantamount to supporting corruption.
