In comms they most certainly don't!

Tried to find definitions:

Asymmetric - A link where the send and receive data rates are different.
Symmetric - Send and receive data rates are the same.

Synchronous - data arrives at fixed times and the receiver must always be kept in step (or be synchronised) with the transmitter.
Asynchronous - data can arrive at any time and the receiver does not always have to be kept in synchronisation with the transmitter.

on that note (a bit off topic), rpm can you arrange that the author of the blog is shown on the page - ATM there is no indication.
