South Africans aspire to have ADSL – Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line.

They both mean the same thing :)

In comms they most certainly don't!

Tried to find definitions:

Asymmetric - A link where the send and receive data rates are different.
Symmetric - Send and receive data rates are the same.

Synchronous - data arrives at fixed times and the receiver must always be kept in step (or be synchronised) with the transmitter.
Asynchronous - data can arrive at any time and the receiver does not always have to be kept in synchronisation with the transmitter.

Hi folks

I just want to clarify: this is an article from one of our bloggers and not by me. We have a few bloggers on http://www.myblogs.co.za and when I spot an interesting posting I will publish it here.

on that note (a bit off topic), rpm can you arrange that the author of the blog is shown on the page - ATM there is no indication.
