Pakistan on Saturday banned cinemas from showing "The Da Vinci Code" because it contained what officials called blasphemous material about J e s u s .

Christians only make up about 3 percent of Pakistan's 150 million people.

Is it not funny that a Muslim country respects him far more than so called Christian countries ???.

Who says that God does not have a sense of humor.

I don't think it has much to do with the relgious behaviour of the countries but rather how heavily they uphold freedom of speech.

I'm pretty sure the states that are run by Christians directly as in not a secular state will ban the movie.

No, he aint. Mohammad is the Prophet in Islam.
But yes, I agree that zealous religious states will protect religion in all ways an forms much more than a state that isn't governed by religion.

what I don't understand is that if they see ***** as a prophet ... then y do they see it a blasphemy if he had children??? as far as I know(correct me if I am wrong here...I am sure I don't even have to ask... but anyways) ... mohummud had children .... and a lot of wives .... and he was a prophet .... so what r they on about?? do they really believe in christianity?? and using islam as a cover :)

Sometimes I wonder how people can be so stupid...

Don't like the movie? Fine, dont watch it. Banning something because it questions what you would rather people just accepted without question shows your beliefs as weak.

Personally, the sooner the world at large moves away from antiquated ideas like religion the beter for us all.

unfortunately ... not everyone has matured to a state that they or the rest of the world rather can afford for them to lose their religious crutch .... its basically what makes most ppl not do the bad stuff .... as they will burn in hell ,etc. .... and just by the volumes of ppl that still believe in religion, u can see that the world is not ready for ppl to give it up .... they have a lot of growing up to do first .....

Very good point indeed.

Is the fear of retribution all that stops most people from commiting crime etc...? An interesting question. If true we really haven't come that far at all.

well ... I believe so .... speak to any person that is really into their religion .... and ask them why they generally do not commit a crime or do the bad stuff .... most of the time its cause god will punish them rather than its against the law ... or its just not something they would do because of who they are as a person ... but mainly because of their religion .....
religion has been used as a tool by those in power to control the masses ... and it has been done for so long that the masses do not know any other way ..... but I believe that is changing .... as more and more ppl are educated and begin to question why their religion asks so many things of them .... but it will be a long time b4 we see a significant change.

You will be surprised to hear of all the BAADDDD things that will happen to you if you commit a crime in some religions....
There are some serious scare and fear tactics in use ...

Correct as far as I know, the only major difference is that they don;t believe he was the son of g.o.d., but a prophet no the less
