Article: Religious South Africans dropping in number - survey

I had to laugh at Nigeria being the second most religious country....:D

Nigeria is actually extremely religious. Both the Muslims (still practice Sharia law in some parts) and the Christians.

It's not a surprise.

The catholic church is on the back foot over child molestation claims, the happy clappys are turning religion into showbiz and the slimy conmen healers and televangelists are creating sceptics every time they say hallelujah.

Lol! Given the current state of education that probably does not have the effect you desired.

Its the silver lining to an otherwise dismal education system. It still makes far too many pastors and not enough scientists. Atheism is quickly becoming more accepted and in some areas... a political force. The world is changing. I believe its a natural step in social evolution :D The internet is cutting away the BS at a massive pace. Hooray for information.

I'm not really surprised, the average person in my generation (those born in the early 90's and late 80's) that I have come across doesn't care about religion.

Unless he intended to say it is the lack of textbooks that results in less religion.

it has more to do with the phasing out of Bible studies and our secular government. One of the great success of post94 SA is that our government is very secular. We even had a humanist as a president.

Turn finally away from religion after watching the idiots on tbn. Clowns jumping up and down and screaming and pleading for your money. Sow a seed and you on your way to heaven.
