I have GW and GW - factions linked to one account. I'm tempted to get the CE Edition as well. Wonder what would happen if I added the CE key to the existing acc - will I still only have 6 char slots, but get the bonus items?
If so, maybe I should just us CE separately... only prob is I wont get to Tyria with those chars then :(

Can you not unassign your standard factions key from your existing existing account and then load the CE key into it?

No, you cannot UNassign a key once it is added to an account.
If you add your CE key, it will override your previous Factions key and you cannot re-use the standard key.
Of course you will get all the normal xtras from CE.
You will still have your 6 char slots.
guess I'll just use the CE key separately then :p
As far as I know you'll get an additional two slots. It's the same as with the original. People bought secondary accounts so that they could get more character slots.
Your best bet is to confirm this with ANet themselves though.
