Jeezuz wept! does it ever end
...Mr Gordhan said the chairman of the DBSA board, Jabu Moleketi, and a committee of the board responsible for the appointment, had informed him of their decision, and that he believed due process had been followed.

Mr Shaik’s appointment follows an internal advertisement within the bank, and the involvement of an external executive head-hunting agency. Nine candidates were identified, of whom four were short-listed.

This had been reduced to two candidates after the interviews, and Mr Shaik was later rated as the best fit for the position, said Mr Gordhan. ...Shaik had displayed strong analytical skills and a "deep" understanding of national priorities. "Mr Shaik’s lack of experience in running a commercial enterprise is made up for by his recent training at the Harvard Business School," said Mr Gordhan.

...so he "resigns" from NIA and gets a massive golden handshake at taxpayers expense , does a short course (also at taxpayers expense mind you) and lands himself a promotion to a better spot at the feeding trough

I think his "deep understanding of national priorities" is the innate ability of that family to make money disappear faster than green mielies go through a duck..

Typical cANCer and it's buddie buddie system. They all eat gravy out of the same trough.

Give the man credit ... for him to weasel himself out of sticky situations and into blatantly corrupt but lucrative positions requires some extraordinary talent.

.. or a membership card to an exclusive organized crime syndicate like the ANC.

Can you just imagine what the Shaiky family know about the current gvt? All the dark secrets?

You've got it wrong ... all the ANC's dark secrets are already out in the open. They aren't even trying to hide it anymore.

We are just powerless to do anything about it.

Viva Africa, where cronyism rules the pack!
Viva South Africa where the cANCer corrupts every institution and "connected" member.

They used a head-hunting agency and this dude is the best they could come up with??!

I wish they would not underestimate our intellligence like this. Shaik was OBVIOUSLY made a deal when he left State Security to the effect that he would be given another position, this kammakastige 'interview' was just them going through the motions.

If he is best fit for the position, heaven help me, I do not want to know how bad the others were.

4Sure ... considering that the state also paid for his little US Harvard training jaunt , I think we can safely assume that this was the case

... and anway , who needs experience in running a major commercial enterprise when you can get all the "gen" you need in a quick 3 month course

Does anyone here know the Shaiks - I wonder if they are generally sharp/bright/intelligent, or simply trading on the dark secrets they know in order to get/obtain their positions. To me, Schabir looks stupid, but looks may be deceptive.

Just do a google search of the Shaik brothers and you can see they all involved in some sort of scandal. Yunis Shaik might be the only brother that is clean. Schabir we know about. Mo we know about Chippy we know about but Yunis seems ok.

It is the bold part. Dont get me wrong, they must be very sharp and cunning but trust me, can you just imagine what they must know about the current elite??

I wonder what he does there for a living? Or does he just live off the alleged arms deal bribes they got ?
