I have had the biggest shock after watching all the preliminary matches on the German bouquet. The commentary and standard of presentation on SS is decades behind, dead flat and lacking in depth. I recon Naas would give more insight into game tactics at half time and post-match simply because he has more experience in TV commentary than the moderators they get in on the act at Super Sport.

Unfortunately the German Bouquet channels are blacked out during world cup transmissions :-( Shame on DSTV, you should’ve included the transmission of the “real deal” into your comprehensive packages for they money.

Trinidad and Tobago and the Ivory Coast have done us proud at least (Go TnT, I am playing ragga and DnB for your next match in anticipation). SA Soccer has a lot to catch up and I hope we can pull off a Korea stint like in 2002 come 2010.

Oh, and a little bird tells me that Sweden will afford Germany the opportunity to pull the pants off Rooney, Lampard and the fellow pride bunch in the 2nd round. :D :D :D

You think SS is bad try watching it on SABC1. Their 'experts' are anything but that...Here's some of my favourite comments by them:

"Either of the two sides might score in the second half..."

"Would you like to add or subtract to that comment..."

and yes they really did say the 2nd one.

Quite!

That 'expert' they had apparently from ivory coast looked like they'd dragged him in off the street and put an ivory coast flag on him and told him to talk some k@k for 15 mins or so, cos that is what he did :p

Like the francophone taxi driver who did that BBC interview (he was wearing the name tag of the guy who was supposed to be interviewed and was escourted onto stage by security)

I can't even understand what the SABC 1 commentators are saying. That French dude, that SABC1 sports presenter, Steve Kompela and Marks Maponyane should all take speech lessons.
Lucky you if u have DSTV, thats just some of us have to live with.

Isn't there a way to pick up BBC commentary on the radio or something and listen to that rather?

These SABC guys have no idea! :(

Why cant they find people who know what they are talking about?! I am sure these guys know a lot about local soccer and that is great, but they clearly havent heard of half of these guys that they are sposed to comment on..."Their names sound just like a karate movie!" This one guy just said. Seriously!

Not cool.
