South Africa will follow Australia's example by trying to ban the display of brand names on tobacco packets, according to a report on Thursday.

Somebody didn't think this through.

No branding? So cigarettes will be sold in plain packets with no name on them????? So if a smoker prefers a particular brand, how will they identify it??????????????

If people understood the habbit. They will know it doesn't matter.

It has the brand and the type at the bottom of the packet in plain font.
Black market tobacco dealers are already warming up their printing presses for the new packaging, gonna be a lucky packet whether you get the real deal or hay wrapped in newspaper.

Oh, & like the warning labels of the dangers of smoking on cig packets, I want pics of accident victims (those caused by drunken drivers) printed on ber cans etc.

I am in the process of quiting now. Having some help with a product called Vice Breaker and this morning I decided to leave my pack of cigs at home to see if I can manage at work withou smoking the entire day. I am am managing..but am feeling rather anxious and irritated...though not as bad. Managing with the Vice Breaker I guess. Without it I would go on the hunt for a tried out donkie drol....roll it and smoke it by now! lol
My point is that what Mila said is very true. If you need to smoke .... anything will do....screw the brand!
cos the government makes too much money from the tax they get from smokers
