The NDP: Nothing we haven't heard before

government to take broadband seriously?

Lulz.. goverment only takes parties, bmws seriously..

1) Resign from current job
2) Get rich
3) Sit back and enjoy retirement

Hey look .. I made a plan too

Hear ye, hear ye!

I predict the resignation of Trevor Manuel. Speaking too much truth. Way outside ANC comfort zone.

And not just on telecoms, from what I have read about the report.

.. all i see is more talk, where is the plan of action? I don't see him saying sell off gov assets, block any future way allowing gov parties being heavily invested in telecoms etc so yes he points out the obvious but so what?

When are you going to understand the concept?
It is NOT Government's task to do government tasks.

It is Government's task to keep Government elected.

Government doesn't take broadband seriously, at all. The only things they take serious is their expensive cars, houses and getting more tax money from its people.

Broadband is currently defined as a minimum connection speed of 256 kilobytes per second, but it is expected that by 2020 this will be at least 2 megabytes per second.

256Kbps is NOT broadband in my opinion, the average in SA is 3.18Mbps at the moment (according to ookla). Why not aim for at least 15Mbps by 2020??
