RIM integrating contacts and social networking in BB10

Nope I think this will be alot deeper like sony's xperia facebook integration which is pretty neat.
I dont know of any other phones that have so deep facebook integration.

About time BB starting getting with the times.....

Read my post above buddy,while i agree windows phone, android even ios are ahead currently,its looking pretty promising for OS10 if they can survive until then.

Just dont use it with vodacom whatever you do :sick: their BIS sucks,8ta BIS is FLIPPIN FAST!

Next year it too late. Those apps and platforms that don't have this feature yet, will have that feature out in their next update in the next couple of months. There's no telling how advanced iOS and Android will be "early next year" way beyond where BB plans to be.

If this is BB's trump card that they're playing to win back the lost market worldwide, boy are they in trouble.

Personally I've seen nothing that looks promising about BB10, as everything that has been mentioned so far, my phone can do. My phone is almost 2 years old now.

EDIT: Regarding your "deeper" social integration. Have a look at HTC Sense, which has been out for more than 2 years, with massive social integration.

What phone is that?

As for "sense" I've had the sensation and even the ONE X(best phone on the market right now IMO) but no the xperia integration is still deeper buddy.

Well its just easier, like completely part of your normal contacts list,and from there you can directly see photos,status etc....its not one touch away but rather PART of the contacts tab which makes it quite convenient.Looks good too.Very user friendly.

BB has also been doing it for years. My Facebook contacts automatically linked with my phone contacts/BBM/Whats app

They are obviously referring to more integration

Yea I'm only upgrading in Nov, but considering the WP8. One X is awesome though!

See but that's odd, as that is exactly the same as on my phone. You've got the Thread tab which combines all messages from social networks, sms, email etc. Then there's also the Gallery tabs which pulls galleries from Facebook, Flickr and so on. When you phone someone it also shows you if it's their birthday and their latest status update. That's more than enough for me!

Yeah I'm also quite anxious for windows phone 8 since i definitely will be getting a windows 8 hybrid ultrabook to replace my tablet and laptop.Just hoping they remove the ios type restrictions. :(

I haven't used it extensively since I hardly use facebook so I cant give you exact details but if you ever have a chance go ahead and try it on the xperia's,there is definitely a big difference and its very very nicely implemented.

And just to put it in perspective the xperia has the normal type of facebook widgets also which is like tabs but the ACTUAL PHONEBOOK is where the integration runs deep,just like what RIM is doing with OS10 apparently.
